Boss Hoss Silver Special

The Hot Wheels Boss Hoss Silver Special was a 1970 release that was designed by Ira Gilford. Production was in Hong Kong.

The Silver Special is all chrome detailed with black stripes and number graphics that could be between 1 and 9. It has an exposed engine, a blue tinted windshield, a louvered rear window, and capped redline wheels. Interior color can be white or brown.

Included with the car was a metal collector’s button with a smooth tab. The button features “Hot Wheels Club”, “Mattel”, and a blue or silver Boss Hoss on a blue background.

The club kit car was a mail-in promotion available on the back of blister cards. For $1 you received one of three possible chrome cars, a Hot Wheels water slide decal sheet, an iron-on patch, membership certificate, and a 1970 Hot Wheels Annual or the Hot Wheels Racing World magazine.
