Boss Hoss

The Hot Wheels Boss Hoss is a modified Mustang. It has front and rear spoilers and its hood has been removed to make room for a large blown engine.

The die-cast car was a 1971 release that was designed by Ira Gilford. Production was in Hong Kong.

It can be found in quite a few Spectraflame colors and the interior can be white, grey, or brown. Details include double black stripes and number graphics that can be between 1 and 9. The windshield is tinted blue, it has a louvered rear window, and the redline wheels are capped.

There are a couple of variations of the Boss Hoss. The first variation features cars that have flat black painted roofs.

The second variation has an extra shiny finish and usually has a chrome base. These “Over Chrome” cars are excess Boss Hoss Silver Specials from the Hot Wheels Club Kit that were used in regular production and painted Spectraflame colors.

The Boss Hoss is part of the Spoilers series. Included with the vehicle was a metal collector’s button with a smooth tab. The metal button has “Mustang Boss Hoss” and a red car on a blue background. Also included was a decal sheet that features a variety of logos.
