The Hot Wheels Carabo is based upon the Alfa Romeo Carabo. The concept car was designed by Marcello Gandini and featured a wedge design and scissor doors.

The die-cast car was a 1970 release that was designed by Ira Gilford. It is available in many Spectraflame colors with a painted nose, a flat black louvered rear, and a black enamel painted base. The Carabo has opening scissor doors and the redline wheels are capped.

Production was in the U.S. and Hong Kong. U.S. cars have clear windows and usually a black interior, but a white interior is possible. Hong Kong cars have blue tinted windows and white or brown interiors.

Included with the vehicle was a collector’s button. The button can be plastic or metal with a smooth tab. Both versions feature a blue Carabo on an orange background.
