1969 is the second year of Hot Wheels and expands the collection with 24 new cars. It is also the year that the Grand Prix series was introduced.

All vehicles this year were designed by Ira Gilford. Some car were produced in the U.S., some in Hong Kong, and some in both.

The redline wheels began transitioning from bearing to capped.
