Classic Cord

The Hot Wheels Classic Cord is based upon the 1937 Cord 812. The Cord was a front-wheel-drive luxury car produced by the Auburn Automobile Company.

The die-cast car was a 1971 release that was designed by Larry Wood. Production was in the U.S.

It is available in a wide range of Spectraflame colors. Features include a removable black plastic roof and an opening hood that reveals the engine. The Cord has a clear windshield, a black interior, and capped redline wheels.

Reproductions of the plastic roof are available. An original roof has “6472-0510” on the inside and another number on the lower left.

Included with the vehicle was a plastic collector’s button. The button has a green Classic Cord on a blue background.
