The Hot Wheels Deora is based upon the concept truck by Mike and Larry Alexander. It is a heavily modified 1965 Dodge A100 pickup truck that was designed by Harry Bradley who also designed the Deora Hot Wheels car.

The die-cast vehicle was a 1968 release. It features two removable surf boards that rest on a black tonneau. The truck has bearing redline wheels, and a variety of Spectraflame colors. Interior color can be white, tan, brown, or black.

Production was in the U.S. and Hong Kong. A U.S. car has clear windows and a molded steering wheel and dashboard. The surf boards are red and yellow and have a part number on the bottom.

A Hong Kong car will have blue windows, a separate steering wheel, and a base with suspension holes and “Hong Kong”. The surf boards are orange and yellow and lack part numbers.

Partially painted bases can be found on some Hong Kong Deoras. This variation is only with Spectraflame Antifreeze and Spectraflame Gold cars.

Included with the car was a collector’s button. The button has an orange Deora on a blue background and has a notched tab.
