The Hot Wheels Dune Daddy is a reissue of the Sand Crab. The die-cast car was a 1973 release that was designed by Howard Rees. Production was in Hong Kong.
It is available in a wide variety of enamel colors, has a blue tinted windshield, and “Dune Daddy” is on the base. Interior colors can be white, tan, brown, or black. The redline wheels can all be through-hole or through-hole in the front and capped in the back.
The Sand Crab and Dune Daddy are very similar. The major difference is the removal of the clear canopy. It also has enamel instead of Spectraflame paint and rounded protectors were added to the base next to the rear wheels.
