Fire Engine

The Hot Wheels Fire Engine is an original design of an emergency vehicle. The die-cast truck was a 1970 release that was designed by Ira Gilford. Production was in Hong Kong.

It can be found with a Spectraflame red or red enamel cab that can have a white or brown interior. The windows are tinted blue and the redline wheels are capped.

A removable black ladder attaches to the right side of the red plastic trailer and “Fire Dept.” with a badge emblem detail both sides. The trailer attaches to a cab that is also used with several other vehicles. “The Heavyweights” is on the base of the cab.

The Fire Engine was released as part of the Heavyweights series. Included with the vehicle was a collector’s button that can be plastic or metal. Both buttons have a Fire Engine on a yellow background.
