Funny Money

The Hot Wheels Funny Money is a dragster that looks like an armored car. The die-cast funny car was a 1974 release that was designed by Larry Wood and produced in Hong Kong.

It has a metal body painted plum enamel decorated with yellow, orange, and green graphics. The graphics feature flowers, a smiley face sun, a dollar symbol, and a peace sign.

The rear-hinged body can be raised to reveal the dual engines and black roll cage. On the base is “Funny Money” and the redline wheels are through-hole.

The vehicle is a reissue of the Funny Money from 1972 with several changes. The reissue has a metal body instead of plastic and it is detailed with printed graphics.

A bumper was added to the base and the orange plastic bumper and support bar were removed. “Heavyweights” was also removed from the base and rounded protectors were added next to the rear wheels.
