Grass Hopper

The Hot Wheels Grass Hopper is based upon a heavily modified U.S. Army Jeep. The car has two large engines, one in front and one in back. The body is detailed with a canteen, pick, shovel, and other items.

The die-cast car was a 1971 release that was designed by Larry Wood. Production was in the U.S.

It is available in an assortment of Spectraflame colors. Features include a removable white plastic roof, a clear windshield, black interior, and capped redline wheels. The roof has “6461 001” on the inside and another number above it.

Included with the vehicle was a collector’s button that can be plastic or metal with a smooth tab. Both buttons have a yellow background. The plastic button’s Grass Hopper is green and the metal button has a blue Grass Hopper.
