Jack “Rabbit” Special

The Jack “Rabbit” Special is an original design of a racing car. It was featured in the Hot Wheels animated TV series and the Hot Wheels comic book series.

The die-cast car was a 1970 release that was designed by Larry Wood. It is available in white enamel with a blue stripe along the top. It has an opening rear hatch and the taillights are painted. The interior can be found in black or white and the redline wheels are capped.

Production was in the U.S. and Hong Kong. A U.S. car has a painted blue stripe, tinted windows, and U.S.A. on the base. A Hong Kong car’s blue stripe is a sticker, its windows are tinted blue, and “Hong Kong” is on the base.

Included with the car was a collector’s button. The metal button has a Jack “Rabbit” Special on a green background and its tab is smooth.

A promotional version of the Jack “Rabbit” Special was available from Jack in the Box fast-food restaurants. It came packaged in a baggie with a header card and included an exclusive sticker sheet with red stripes and Jack in the box graphics.
