Mercedes-Benz C-111

The Hot Wheels Mercedes-Benz C-111 is based upon the Mercedes-Benz vehicle used to test new engine technologies. The die-cast car was a 1976 release that was designed by Larry Wood and produced in Hong Kong.

It is red enamel decorated with blue, yellow, and white graphics that feature stars and stripes. The car has working gull-wing doors, blue tinted windows, and a black interior. The base is usually black plastic, but it can be found with a chrome plastic base.

The redline wheels are through-hole. Later releases can have black wall wheels.

This is the fourth release of the car and is very similar to the 1974 Mercedes-Benz C-111. The primary change is that it now has a plastic instead of metal base.
