Nitty Gritty Kitty

The Hot Wheels Nitty Gritty Kitty is based upon the Mercury Cougar. The two-door coupe has been modified with front and rear spoilers and its hood has been removed to make room for a large blown engine.

The die-cast car was a 1970 release that was designed by Ira Gilford. Production was in Hong Kong.

It can be found in quite a few Spectraflame colors and the interior can be white, tan, or brown. Details include double white stripes along the top, painted taillights, and number graphics on the doors that can be between 1 and 9.

The windows are tinted blue and the redline wheels can be bearing or capped. To decorate the car, there was a decal sheet that features a variety of logos.

There is a rare variation of Spectraflame blue cars. Most have a standard roof, but some can be found with a black painted roof.

The Nitty Gritty Kitty is part of the Spoilers series. Included with the vehicle was a metal collector’s button with a smooth tab. The button has a blue Kitty on a yellow background.
