Peeping Bomb

The Hot Wheels Peeping Bomb was a 1970 release that is an original design by Howard Rees. It features a rear engine and an open cockpit with a lever that retracts the headlight covers. The car is available in a variety of Spectraflame colors and has capped wheels.

Production was in the U.S. and Hong Kong. A U.S. car has a clear windshield and “U.S.A.” on the base. A Hong Kong car has a blue tinted windshield and “Hong Kong” on the base.

Interior color is usually black, but a white interior is possible. A brown interior can also be found on Hong Kong cars.

A rare variation is on the headlights. They are usually chrome, but orange headlights are possible on orange and purple cars.

Hybrid cars are another variation. A hybrid will have a blue tinted windshield and a U.S. base.

Included with the vehicle was a collector’s button that can be plastic or metal with a smooth tab. Both buttons have a blue Peeping Bomb. Plastic buttons have a yellow background and metal button backgrounds can be yellow or orange.
