S’Cool Bus

The Hot Wheels S’Cool Bus is based upon the Monogram model kit designed by Tom Daniel. The model features a tilt-up funny car body and two Chrysler Hemi engines.

The die-cast bus was a 1971 release that was designed by Larry Wood and produced in Hong Kong. It is yellow enamel with a black roll cage interior and capped redline wheels.

The rear-hinged body can be raised, a “U” bar can be swung up, and the body can then rest on the “U” bar. Underneath the body are two engines connected by an orange engine scoop.

The funny car was released as part of the Heavyweights series. Included with the vehicle was a sticker sheet with “S’Cool Bus” and “854 C.I.”. Also included was a plastic collector’s button that has a S’Cool Bus on a red background.

The S’Cool Bus is known for “crumbling”. Crumbling is when the body or base cracks and eventually breaks into pieces. This is caused by impure metals being used in the zamac alloy.
