The Hot Wheels Silhouette is based upon the show car created by Bill Cushenberry. The car was built on a 1956 Buick chassis, used a Buick “Nailhead” V8 engine, and had a bubble canopy.

The die-cast vehicle was a 1968 release that was designed by Harry Bradley. It is available in a variety of Spectraflame colors, has a painted base, and bearing redline wheels.

White, tan, gray, and brown are possible interior colors. A purple interior can be found in some purple Silhouettes.

Production was in the U.S. and Hong Kong. U.S. cars have clear windows and a steering wheel that is part of the interior. Hong Kong cars have blue tinted windows, a black steering wheel, and a base with suspension holes and “Hong Kong”.

Included with the car was a collector’s button. The button has a Silhouette on a yellow background and can have a notched tab or a smooth tab.
