Team Trailer

The Hot Wheels Team Trailer is an original design of a truck and travel trailer. The die-cast vehicle was a 1971 release that was designed by Ira Gilford. Production was in Hong Kong.

It can be found in Spectraflame red or white enamel and can have a white or brown interior. The windows are tinted blue and the redline wheels are capped.

The white trailer has blue tinted windows, a blue door, and a blue interior. Stickers with the Hot Wheels logo and “Racing Team” are on the sides and a blue stripe with stars decorates the top and back.

The trailer attaches to a cab that is also used with several other vehicles. “The Heavyweights” is on the base of the cab.

The Team Trailer was released as part of the Heavyweights series. Included with the vehicle was a plastic collector’s button. The button features a white Team Trailer on a blue background.

The Team Trailer is known for “crumbling”. Crumbling is when the body or base cracks and eventually breaks into pieces. This is caused by impure metals being used in the zamac alloy.
