The Hood

The Hot Wheels The Hood was a 1971 release that is an original design by Larry Wood. The car features a long hood with an engine cutout and an exposed front seat.

It can be found in a variety of Spectraflame colors. The taillights are painted and the redline wheels are capped. A black plastic roof can slide out to the windshield covering the front seat.

Production was in the U.S. and Hong Kong. A U.S. car has clear windows, black interior, and “U.S.A.” on the base. A Hong Kong car has blue windows, brown interior, and “Hong Kong” on the base. There is a variation on Hong Kong cars where some have black painted roofs.

Included with the vehicle was a plastic collector’s button. It has a red The Hood on a blue background.
