Turbofire

The Hot Wheels Turbofire was a 1969 Hot Wheels release and an original design by Ira Gilford. It features fender flares and a sleek tapered shape that leads into an angular rear-engine compartment. Production was in the U.S.

It comes in a wide assortment of Spectraflame colors. The windows are clear and the interior is white. A rare brown interior can be found in some red cars.

An opening rear hatch reveals a turbine engine and the car’s wide taillight is painted orange. The redline wheels are usually bearing, but capped wheels are possible.

Included with the car was a collector’s button with an orange Turbofire on a blue background. There are notched and smooth tabbed Hong Kong buttons and a smooth tabbed “Printed in U.S.A.” button. Buttons may have different shades of blue or orange.
