The Hot Wheels Warpath is based upon the AMX/2 concept car by the American Motors Corporation. It was designed by Paul Tam and produced in Hong Kong.

The die-cast car is red enamel decorated with blue and white graphics that feature stripes and stars. It has blue tinted windows, a black interior, a black plastic base, and louvered rear hatches. The redline wheels are through-hole.

It is one of four Hot Wheels vehicles released by the Wisconsin Toy and Novelty Company. Each vehicle came packaged in a baggie with a header card that has an unusual Hot Wheels logo.

Wisconsin Toy specialized in closeouts and overstock. The Hot Wheels cars they sold were leftovers from a canceled 1975 promotion between Mattel and Proctor & Gamble.
